Services
Individual, Couple, & Family Therapy
It has proven to be that psychotherapy is effective in that makes people feel better and improves their relationships with others. However, psychotherapists/counselors do not have working magic wands, unfortunately. Feeling comfortable with your therapist provides you with an opportunity to trust the therapist's abilities and allows you to get the most out of your services. I believe in a collaborative, strength based, client centered approach.
Individual
Regardless of whether you are coming in by yourself, I take a systemic view of your life and relationships. We will explore, different contexts, to figure out what makes you; you as a product of your relationships and experiences, as well as how these affect your current, previous, and future relationships. We will also explore ways that you can change or ways that you can benefit from accepting or making peace with your situation.
Couples / Family
I specialize in working with interracial and intercultural couples and families. My publications and presentations at conferences explore the research literature and studies on finding what works with interracial couples and families. My experience working with a variety of clinical areas are listed below cover all three modalities: Individual, Couple, and Family.
School
I also have experience providing therapeutic support to young adults around college experiences. College preparatory experiences, struggles around how COVID-19 affected their school experiences and being in college. I have also worked with those who are needing emotional support around their dissertations and/or theses. My approach is to help you therapeutically navigate this milestone in your life, despite the saying, “the only way to know how to do a dissertation, is to do a dissertation”.

Fees for Services
Initial Consultation
I offer a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation. During the initial consultation, you will have the opportunity to explain your needs. If you would prefer to request this via email (use the contact form), this option is available, however I find that a verbal conversation may be easier to communicate your needs. I encourage you to ask questions, so you can make an informed choice as to whether my services are the right fit for you.
Session Rate
I offer the same 50-minute session rate for an individual, couple, or family. The fee per session is $175; for current full-time students with a valid student id, the fee is $140. I do not take any insurance at this time; however, I would be happy to provide you with a receipt or any additional paperwork needed for your insurance company to reimburse you as an out of network provider, called an OON (a super-bill). Depending on availability, I may have space for those with financial difficulty, on a case-by-case basis only. This sliding scale will be provided on a limited time basis.
Payment
All major credit cards are accepted- Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Cash, Venmo, and PayPal are also accepted, however, checks or debit cards (without the credit card feature) are not accepted at this time. I do provide superbills upon request; we will talk about this process during the initial consultation. Please check with your insurance company if you are eligible; I would be considered an out of network provider (OON).
